{Listening To} the Community & First Nations

Pacific NorthWest LNG is committed to ongoing and meaningful dialogue with the community, including First Nations. We have met with all levels of government, area First Nations, community groups and local businesses to actively engage the community and to learn more about what matters most to the people that live and work in the region. The final design of the facility is still being developed and an open dialogue with the community will ensure that local voices help shape the project.

Pacific NorthWest LNG views consultation as an ongoing process that will last not only for the design and construction of the facility but throughout the life of the project as well. We understand that working collaboratively with First Nations to understand their interests is integral to the success of Pacific NorthWest LNG. We are committed to working with First Nations to ensure meaningful engagement and accommodation. We are continuing our discussions with local Tsimshian Nations as we conduct a total project review, recognizing that area First Nations are important partners in the success of our project. Pacific NorthWest LNG has also reached long-term benefits agreements with the Lax Kw'alaams, Metlakatla, and Kitselas First Nations.

We regularly host community events, information sessions and open houses. Updates will be posted here as they become available. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
